Is Nuclear War mentioned in the Bible?

Yes. In the early 1990's, I remember reading a passage in Zacariah 14:12, that sounded much like a description of Russia's Elipton Bomb. The damage is so severe that a man would literally be burned alive while standing in place. My bible notes in the margin, I wrote says, "Russian plague, Elipton bomb."

Verse 12 And this shall be a plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongues shall consume away in their mouth.

This describes a nuclear attack very well. The verses, 13-5, go on to describe war against Israel. It seems to align with Psalms 83 and Ezekiel 38-39.

Psalms 118:26 Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of the LORD.

I use the KJV Bible, unless otherwise noted.
